The Castles of Bellinzona
During the 14th and 15th centuries, the Dukes of Milan constructed the Bellinzona fortifications and also ruled over the area. Bellinzona was captured by the Swiss in 1500: Uri took Castelgrande, Schwyz took Montebello to the east of Bellinzona, and Nidwalden took Sasso Corbaro, high up on the mountainside with superb views.
All three castles are now open to the public. Immerse yourself in the castle world and experience an exciting journey through time. At Sasso Corbaro, you can also enjoy culinary delights combined with breathtaking views.
